Kia ora te whanau
A lovely lady I work out with let it slip that there are 6 Monday’s until Christmas! I don’t know about you but it blows me away how quickly the years zip by these days. Perhaps it’s my age or perhaps it’s the pace at which we live our lives?
I am feeling particularly blessed as I reflect on the highlights we have enjoyed this term thus far.
The first 5 weeks (yes we are officially half way through the term) have been full on with swimming twice a week popped into the programme. Thanks to Amos Pilgrim for the stunning organisation of this event. Thank you parents for keeping on top of getting togs, towels and goggles to school!
I would like to acknowledge Kendra Liggett for the fabulous organisation she put in place to make our visit to the Show go smoothly last Thursday. Despite atrocious weather it was a very enjoyable day and I’m sure all the children who attended slept very well that night. I was especially proud of the wonderful behaviour our children displayed at the Show even though at times the weather made the trip a bit difficult. They all showed huge resilience. Of course the day would not have even happened had it not been for the generosity of time given by our parent/grandparent community. Thank you all.
It has also been exciting to be thinking and planning ahead for 2016. In particular as a Leadership Team and staff we have been exploring the values for which we wish to embed in our school’s culture for the future. We have chosen 5 values that the BOT are also excited about. What has been particularly great about this progress is what God has been saying to us as we pray and reflect on His Word to develop these ideas.
As parents you will also be making big decisions about your children and their future education. Particularly if they are in the Middle Hub. We’re blessed to have been allowed to move our school to a year 0-8 cohort.
This time last year I asked God to guide me about my next steps in my career. When I saw the advertisement in the gazette, I found the following verses invaluable as I prayed for God’s guidance. I urge you to seek God’s word as you make those very important decisions about you and your family’s next steps too.
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Thanks again for your continued support and understanding for us, as your partners in your child/ren’s educational journey.
Love and blessings,
Junior Hub Team leader
