Well, two weeks until the end of our inaugural year! What a year it’s been. There have been ups and downs and lots of learning along the way – not just for the children!
As we approach the end of the year I, along with the rest of the staff, have found ourselves reflecting on how it’s gone. We feel blessed!
We had our helpers morning tea the other day. On looking around the room I was initially surprised by how many there were and then as I thought about it, realised there should have been a lot more. My thanks to that group was for their wonderful contribution to the success of the school this year. Without the help of so many, we couldn’t have come as far as we have. It reminds me of 1 Cor 12:12 “There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body… The verse goes on to describe how the hand can’t do without the foot etc. for the body to work as one unit. That’s exactly how it has been this year. We, as a Staff, owe our thanks to so many: the Board of Trustees, the Parent Community Group, the Volunteer Parent Helpers, the Neighbours, the Selwyn District Council, Pastors of the Selwyn Churches, those who have donated money and time, and I’m sure I’ll have missed some. We even owe our thanks to the road workers at the front of the school, who came in after work and spent 3 hours putting the bark into the playground for us!
So many ‘parts’ to our school body – the members of Rolleston Christian School. What a marvellous contribution it has been! Of course our final thanks needs to go to our Heavenly Father, who had this school planned from the beginning and has been watching over us throughout the year. I hope that you have felt a ‘part’ of our school family this year.
As Christmas approaches, I hope you all enjoy a time of memories and celebration of all that has happened this year and the joy that Jesus brings to our lives. I wish God’s blessing on you all over the holidays and look forward to increasing our ever extending family next year.
Thank you for all you’ve done.
Merry Christmas to you all!

If you become quite competent and efficient in the last round, or would like to try your hand at book covering on this round please come and see us at the office. We hope to have the books back by Monday 1 February so we are able to organise them, ready for learning in the first week back. If you would like to help with the organising on that day too, you would be very welcome.

Ashburton Mitre 10 Mega Christmas in the Park is happening again this year! The night has changed from a Sunday to Saturday night, which makes it easier for parents to have their children up late.

Hot and cold food and drinks are available throughout the concert, and you are welcome to bring your own picnic tea to eat in our lovely Ashburton Domain Oval setting.
This is an event organised by a few people through the Christian Ministers Association who had a vision to bring a true Christmas celebration to the district, which is totally free for all families to attend.
