The Prayer of Partnership
Lately God has given me a revelation about this incredible family He is building on this earth. I have been reflecting on the wonderful family God is uniting right here at Rolleston Christian School. The expression of this family has been in many ways, from parents consoling each other in times of need, to children celebrating each other’s successes. It has been remarkable to see the people that God is bringing together through RCS.
The Bible says “so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (Romans 12:5)” To me this scripture talks about the partnership Christ encourages from His body on this earth. Whanau, parents, teachers, children – Together God has called us to unite.
Psalms 133:1 exclaims “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”. With this union comes responsibility, to learn to work together in partnership. Interestingly synonyms for partnership included relationship, connection, cooperation, and collaboration. All words that I see as being vitally important as we continue through Term 2.
My prayer is that we would continue on in partnership. Not on a surface level but on a deep mutual understanding of the bigger purpose of our school community. Our eyes need to be looking up at His plans for our lives and the lives of our children. All that we do is to glorify His name.
I leave us with this closing scripture to meditate on. This a wonderful, biblical prayer of partnership:
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:2-3 NIV)
