Quick Notes:

Message from Staff – Dennis Marshall

Each week I reflect on the blessing it has been to be a part of Rolleston Christian School. As I spend time with the children, I take the time to look at each one and see them interact with each other.  They often do something little for each other that reveals the true character of what this school is about. It may be in getting a Lily pad for each other;  how they play with each other; reading to each other; supporting each other in math and writing. They uphold and care for each other throughout the day. It is great to watch and often brings a smile.For our devotions this term we have been looking at being the Body of Christ and how we can serve each other (1 Corinthians 12). In preparing for this week’s devotion I read a study that referred to how children naturally look after each other. The example it gave was of a four year old playing Mum to the baby. These are the traits that the children display at school. I found a lovely quote for  the devotion;

“Christ has no body now on earth but yours,
no hands but yours,
no feet but yours,
Yours are the eyes through which to look out
Christ’s compassion to the world
Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good;
Yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now.”
• Teresa of Ãvila

I think we, as a school community, are beginning to show more and more of this. As I thought about the little things the children were doing at school, I was also mindful of the things I keep hearing of that the parents of our school are doing for others. Generous acts of kindness and servitude that reflect the nature of God to our community. I was talking to someone from my church on Sunday about our school and I was sharing my belief that Rolleston Christian School will be a significant part of the Rolleston Community – a pillar of hope, a stronghold for God. It is exciting to be a part of this.

I hope that you too share in the excitement of what we are and what we may become and continue to uphold the school and all associated with it in prayer. We are a small part of God’s great plan and it’s fantastic to see him at work through our school – to Him be the glory!

God Bless.
