Next Week Must Knows
Tuesday 9.30am-12noon – Library Working Bee (all welcome)
Thursday 9am -12noon – Food Forest Working Bee (all welcome)
I returned to work last week after a few weeks away due to the failing health and subsequent passing of my Mother. While this was a sad and difficult time, I cannot help but find all the positives in it that made me grateful for the life, faith and upbringing that I had. It showed me how our school values of Love and Peace can permeate our lives.
Firstly, when you are away there is always a reunion – What a lovely day first day back I had! When asked how it was to be back at school all I could say was “It was totally joyous!â€. This welcoming return typified the love that I had been feeling through the whole experience – so much kindness shown, so many prayers, messages, hugs and genuine concern that came my way. It made me truly grateful for my friends, family and the Christian colleagues I work with.
Another positive experience was God’s peace. I felt God’s all encompassing peace as people prayed that my family and I would know God’s comfort and rest. We felt people’s prayers uphold us, which helped us focus on how blessed we were to have such a great Mother and Nana in our lives, and did not allow us to drown in our sadness.
Finally, God’s love was like an umbrella over the past few weeks. In my Mum’s eulogy I said that if there was one word that described her and her life, it was love. My sister said “Although we loved her, she loved us moreâ€. We continue to feel her love through the memories we have, and are challenged to continue sharing God’s love just as she did. I will be happy if a can leave a legacy like this!
As we finish the term this week, in Living Christianly we are talking about having a pastoral heart – what an awesome way to share God’s love and peace. As one who has felt thoroughly looked after during a difficult time, I leave you with this week’s memory verse from Hebrews 12:5.
“Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of Godâ€.
We wish those celebrating their birthdays during the school holidays, Happy Birthday also!
Just a reminder that the ordering cut off day is 29th September. Please place your order asap to avoid disappointment.
Gates in Food Forest
There are two new temporary gates in the back paddock where there are neighbouring sheep grazing. If you come through these gates, please make sure you close them, as we do not want the sheep to eat our plants and trees in the Food Forest.
