Week 11 and the Holidays
Please let me start by saying…………………. “Yes we’ve made it!”
Eleven weeks of learning tends to take it’s toll on everyone so please children, parents and teachers take this holiday break to recharge. Recharge your spiritual, mental and physical batteries for what will again be an exciting term filled with learning opportunities. For me I’m an ‘active relaxer’ so I hope to take a few days off and explore some of God’s beautiful country. I am always blown away by what a picturesque country we live in and love getting into the outdoors to feel close to God. I hope you too can find some time to re-energise.
We are not considering this week as ‘down time’ whatsoever. The Middle Hub’s timetable will continue as usual with the exception of Wednesday when our Year 4’s participate in the Cross Country and Friday where all staff will be at a full day conference.
During these holidays please take some time to really take a good look at the Learning Reports that will be sent out at the end of this week. The teachers and children have spent time considering how to best showcase all the learning that happens on a daily basis in the Middle Hub. Praise your child for their valued and varied achievements. Take time to consider the next steps and helping at home segments. We’ve tried to make this meaningful and with the holidays just around the corner this is a great opportunity to try some of these methods.
Below are some learning at home ideas you may like to try;
* Read for a chapter book for at least 15min per day.
* Write a factual recount of a holiday event.
* Complete a hands on holiday project.
* Use apps, online games and flash cards etc to improve the speed of times tables.
It has been a pleasure teaching your children this term. I wish you all a restful holidays look forward to seeing you all again in term 3.
Take care and God bless,
