Message from Staff
Kia ora,
As we come to the end of the year it is a great time to reflect on the year been and look forward to the year ahead. It has been a big year as a school and a lot of people have worked hard to see this happen.
A very big thank you to the PCG for all they have achieved. We have a small but dedicated group of parents that have organised community events and fundraising activities, and have helped out families in need. Your contributions to the school have been greatly appreciated and as a school community we are blessed to have such passionate and dedicated people helping to enhance the educational experience all our children enjoy.
A big thank you also to the people that have volunteered their time to help with the practical aspects of the school. Many people have devoted hours of time to things such as putting books away, covering books, moving mulch and soil, helping on trips, coaching sports team, and many more. Your help with these things makes a huge difference to the amount that can be achieved in the school and also frees teachers up to do what they do best – planning, teaching, and evaluating, the teaching and learning of each of the children in the school.
We also have volunteers that come along and help in classes with small groups of children or individual children. For many of our children this makes a huge difference. It allows for some students to have one-to-one adult time that they would otherwise not be able to receive. It also makes the impact of the learning activity for all children much greater. A very big thank you to these people for your time, patience and dedication.
Our school is blessed also with a fantastic Board of Trustees. We have a great group of individuals that are passionate about the continued improvement of our school. They are dedicated to asking the hard questions, analysing the problems and fully supporting the staff as we go about the day to day business of teaching and learning. This group of people selflessly give hours of their time for the benefit of all our students, so thank you!
Last but not least our staff. Setting up a school, a process that takes some time, is not an easy task. Our staff serve with their whole hearts. They have poured hours into the work they do, as well as the ‘extra’ things like making cheese rolls and helping out at fundraising stalls. As a team we have really grown this year and I feel privileged to work with a team of educators that are vibrant and passionate, and are focussed on continually improving their practice and our school. Thank you for all your hard work!
It is great to stop and be thankful. We can often rush through life without stopping to be thankful for the blessings we have. I count it as a blessing to work with a great group of people as we continue to establish ourselves as a school. Thank you!
We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday evening as we continue to celebrate 2016.
Many blessings,
Liz
